Attorney Dwyer is a Connecticut native, born and raised in New Haven County, where his father, Gerald P. Dwyer, practiced law for over 35 years. Attorney Dwyer earned his law degree from Vermont Law School. Following law school Attorney Dwyer was appointed as a legal research clerk for the Judges of the Connecticut Superior Court. Following the Judicial clerkship, Attorney Dwyer began working as a Trial Attorney for Travelers Insurance, defending claims of personal injury. After defending personal injury claims, Attorney Dwyer began representing injured parties in claims against insurance companies. In 2008, Attorney Dwyer earned the certification of Board Certified Civil Trial Advocate from the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He achieved this certification after documenting extensive trial experience and passing a written examination. In order to qualify for the examination, an attorney must be recommended by Connecticut Judges and lawyers. These recommendations were based on significant trial experience and professional ability. Attorney Dwyer is approved by the State of Connecticut as a Part A Special Public Defender in the Superior Courts of Connecticut. This means that Attorney Dwyer is approved to defend criminal defendants facing the most serious felony charges in any Connecticut Superior Court. Attorney Dwyer has dedicated his practice to litigation in Connecticut.
